Mediation Support FAQs

A mediator cannot advise you.   It’s therefore a good idea to seek advice to ensure that you understand the law and understand what options you have.  The input of a lawyer can range from an isolated advisory. Strategy meeting to much more extensive support, depending on your circumstances.  Having some input from a lawyer means that you can be much more focused in the mediation sessions as you understand the pertinent points and having the benefit of advice means that you can be confident when reaching agreement, which often means a quicker resolution and in turn reducing costs.

Not at all.  As lawyers who mediate, we understand how important it is for clients to feel that they are supported but also have flexibility.  We are happy to work on an ad hoc basis as and when you need us.
